North Korea versus The World

This article will highlight specifically on the reasons why North Korea relates with the world the way it does, human rights, poverty, military, system of government will not be focused upon.

North Korea is a state in East Asia, China borders it on the North, Russia on the Northwest and South Korea on the South. It’s capital is Pyongyang, the estimated population as at 2015 was 25,155,317, and it’s ruled by the Supreme Leader- Kim Jong-Un.

The most important component of International Politics is POWER. Power determines to a large extent how much of your national and international objectives you will be able to achieve on the international scene. States to be relevant have to find ways to be powerful, at whatever cost, because the absence of power makes other states able to trend on you.

According to Wikipedia: The international environment changed with the election of U.S. President George W. Bush in 2001. His administration treated North Korea as a rogue state, while North Korea redoubled its efforts to acquire nuclear weapons to avoid the fate of Iraq.

A United States senator ‘John McCain’ recently remarked that a North Korean missile tipped with a nuclear warhead capable of reaching our homeland is no longer a distant hypothesis, but an imminent danger

Nuclear weapons are deemed the penultimate point of leverage preventing the United States and its allies from toppling North Korean regime. They have fortified their borders with a huge array of offensive conventional armaments-artillery, missiles and more. The world is far more dangerous than it was thirty years ago. The threat posed by North Korea is not theoretical, it’s a reality

This is a written record of an interview on May 2017, between the United States President Donald Trump and Fox News Presenter Douglas Birkey:

Douglas Birkey: How safe are troops along the military zone and our ally South Korea, how safe are they with some of the defense systems that we have provided and what’s the status of this?    Donald Trump: Nobody is safe! I mean, who is safe? The guy has got nuclear weapons, I will like to say they are very safe, these are great, brave soldiers, these are great troops and they know the situation with 28,000 troops on the line, and they are right there and so nobody is safe! And we are probably not safe here, if he gets the long range missile, who knows? We are not safe either.

North Korea in my view is a state that has been surviving over the years by its ability to remain inaccessible to the western powers domination. Asia is a continent with bright minds and a bright future, if you are looking for a state that can stand the United States economy you look to China. Interestingly, if you are looking for a relatively small state that has been able to avoid an attack by the United States even after been termed a rogue state you must look to North Korea.

How has this been possible? I remain with the school that says the Supreme Leader of North Korea is not irrational, he is simply surviving the only way he knows how to which is through the threat of the use of force and truthfully this tactic has been very successful.

North Korea has shown the world that every state needs to strengthen herself to survive. I am not an advocate for war, but the threat of the use of force to achieve national and international objectives is a genius idea. North Korea is not against the world, it’s simply trying to survive.

This Crazy World of International Politics (Syria)

The world is out of control, Syria attacks its own people kills children and women, the United States has refused to honor the position of Russia and launch an attack on Syria.Tell me how all this is not crazy?

Making use of biological weapons is wrong on all counts. So the United States wants to fight for the people of Syria good but crazy  the reason for this is because could the United States retaliate without doing the same thing which is killing women and children?  Can Trump tell the world categorically that he killed no civilians?

Every one has something negative to say about the Russian president Putin. I am not 100% in support of this man but you must understand that every state seeks its own interest. There must be a reason why he is obviously against the attack on Syria. Trust me Donald beautiful Trump has interests in Syria if not the United States will never have attacked

Suddenly everyone becomes a war criminal over night. Syria is crazy, Russia is crazy, America is crazy, the world is crazy. Note that no one is right or wrong between these two states that’s Russia and America, no matter what the press says, they both have selfish interests in Syria. The only obviously wrong party here is Syria. You dont for any reason attack your own people it’s barbaric and definitely not using biological weapons.

Now you see we live in a crazy world.  United States of America is world power but if they go to war with Russia the world splits into two. And what most people don’t know is it’s not going to be an easy ride for the United States. Why do you think Russia is standing thier ground. You don’t stand against a giant if you are not a giant or you don’t have something you are sure you can use to bring the giant down

So let’s keep watching how this will play out. But take this fact from this, both the United States of America and Russia cannot afford to go to war against each other, it will spell the end of the world as we know it.

Think deeper don’t pick sides, you stand to gain nothing if all hell breaks. Trump and Putin need to become best friends for everyones sake.

What Nigerians are facing in South Africa

Its really sad that people have totally gone insane, not just in actions but in thought.  About a week ago I saw a video on Youtube of a Nigerian killed in South Africa, he was gunned down and they kept shooting him even while he was down.

Now my question is what could he have done? We need to understand that we live in a world where for every action there is a reaction. We should never also forget moral standards. South Africans claim Nigerians are polluting their country, selling drugs, and getting involved in prostitution. I will not say these things are not happening but the reactions of South Africans to this has been too extreme. Let me quickly say this, Nigeria has the highest concentration of black people in the world, and there are a lot of South African companies and citizens in Nigeria, imagine such a huge population react in the same manner as the South Africans have.

The South African government has really had nothing to say about these things too, its sad considering the role Nigeria played in their fight for real independence. The most alarming is that we have an international organization in the name of The United Nations that I am sure has gotten reports on these developments and have done nothing about it, so why do we keep talking about human rights violations.

Nigerians should also desist from terrible and negative activities, but the best way to stop them just is not violence. Nigerians, innocent and not  are being killed daily on the streets of South Africa.

The reason I am writing this is because the real international currency is POWER in these terms Nigeria should not be joked with, because just when the country decides to retaliate it may blow up from a domestic incident that could have easily been dealt with to a major international incident that will definitely affect other African states and the international community

Is Nigeria a Powerful State?

What is Power?

The capacity, ability to direct and influence the behavior of others or the course of events. Power in the international system is basically the ability to decide and influence the state of affairs of other states in the international system and making sure your national interest is protected. For example, The United State of America is the most powerful nation in the world, this is because of first their MILITARY and secondly their ECONOMIC prowess.

The United States of America has successfully being able to decide and influence what happens in other states in the international system since the 1900s. This evidently makes them very powerful, no one will even bother to question their strength.

How do you say a third world state like Nigeria is a powerful state? For clarification, we will state the characteristics that make a state powerful. These are Geography, Natural Resources, Population, Government System, National Character, Ideology and Quality of Leadership. These factors are the most important in determining the strength of any state in the international system

1. Geography: Nigeria is a country that though is in West Africa, it can boast of being one of the central states on the continent. Its also amazing that even with such centrality, it is not landlocked. This creates room for huge international trade without having to rely on other states for import and export.

2. Natural Resources: In terms of natural resources, Nigeria is a powerful state, why do I say this? In the past 30 years or thereabout crude oil has been the most sought after natural resource, until just recently, urainum is moving to completely take over this as a result of the world turning towards alternative energy and nuclear power. Crude oil is a natural resource thats not available to most states in the international system. Nigeria has become a very rich nation as a result of it, it exports all of its crude oil, and because states cannot do without crude oil it gives Nigeria a bargaining chip in negotiations on world politics. Nigeria’s vast supply of natural resources includes gold, lead, zinc, limestone, oil, gas, salt, cassiterite, clay, dolomite, marble, tantalite, bentonite, gypsum, kaolin, magnesite, silica, iron ore, lignite, phosphate, columbite, wolfram, coal and manganese.Additional resources are ditomite, hydrocarbons, bitumen, feldspar, syenite, marcasite, amethyst, aquamarine, asbestos, graphite, mica, rock crystal, ruby, sapphire, serpentinite, tantalum, topaz, tourmaline, copper, pyrochlore, baryte and bismuth. As a result of thesebNigeria can boast of being a powerful state in terms of natural resources.

3. Population: Let me quickly start by saying China was not made part of the permanent members of the United Nations security council because of their economy, they were added as a result of their huge population. Nigeria boasts of the highest concentration of black people in the world, with a population of over 180 million people. Nigeria is the most populous nation in Africa and the 7th most populous nation in the world.

4. Government System: Nigeria operates a democratic system of government. Though there have been arguements that I also support that its just a propaganda that democracy is the best system of government, but in the contemporary international system, democracy is widely accepted and shows coordination and balance. Nigeria has successfully been able to integrate into this system.

5. National Character/Ideology: An average Nigerian is proud, Nigeria is seen as the envy of other African states and her people make sure other states in the world know of this. The way they talk, carry themselves, work, hustle, etc is almost crazy. The national character is great. They actually believe that they are superior to other states and even umconsciously try to dominate anywhere they find themselves.

6. Quality of Leadership: This is a very subjective point, no matter how good a leader is,there will always be skeptics. To be factual the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari is a very strong character that has led the country since his inception of his administration with a strong and firm hand, he has fought against the institution of corruption that has eaten deep into the countrys foundation for years and even against one of the most powerful terrorist organization in the world today Boko-Haram. The quality of leadership is very good and its only a matter of time the world comes to respect the leadership and its policies.

Even the strongest nations in the world The United States of America, Israel, Germany, China, Japan, France e.t.c will be judged by these indicies of power stated ahead. To be factual there are even many more points in each of the indicies that indicates that by all standard Nigeria is a powerful state, but wait!!!!!! I am not trying to be rigid in my view I leave it to you to decide.
